One of the most important Czech monuments, the Prague State Opera, has undergone a comprehensive reconstruction of both the historical part and the administrative part of the theater. During the reconstruction, there were significant construction and restoration interventions, as well as a modernization of theater technology. From a technical point of view, thanks to these modifications, the State Opera has become the most modern theater stage in the Czech Republic, which will succeed on a global scale.
Major changes were made to distribution, especially wiring, water, heating, waste and dehumidification. The upper and lower stages, auditorium, locker rooms and social facilities also underwent modifications. The offices, rehearsal rooms, ballet and choir halls were renovated in the administrative building.
Theater technology was modernized, dominated by a new cylindrical turntable. Great emphasis was placed on quality of building and room acoustics. Furthermore, a television studio was designed that includes video and sound directing with the possibility of streaming performances online.
