Revitalisation of the part of main view to the Prague Castle in the Riegrovy sady park in Prague 2 was finalised in 2019. The Riegrovy sady park in Prague 2 is undergoing gradual revitaisation aimed at restoring the original concept of Leopold Batěk, both in terms of composition principles and the range of species. The park is listed as a cultural heritage. The revitalisation covers the aspects of both achitecture and landscape design. An area offering an iconic view of Prague Castle is popular place of the Prague citizens who enjoy it as leisure site for relaxing on the lush lawns. The new achievements cover the stabilisation and reconstruction of the paths, including the new rainwater drainage system that allows for absorption of all the water directly in the park, though underground absorption system. The stairs were restored along with the original entrance gate. There are new rocky sections, benches, and new plantings. The curently completed sections include the southern parts of the park near Sokolovna and the main viewpoints of historic parts of Prague and Prague Castle. The historical Vozová gate has been reconstructed as well.
